2.1.2 Data

       The concept plans developed at this Charette were released to the general public on March 15th, 2000. Our project team was able to acquire digital images from two design firms ahead of the release date on guarantee that they would be held in confidence until past the above date. Hotson Bakker Architects and IBI Group were those firms kind enough to provide low-quality advance releases, allowing our project team to create coverages for use in the following analyses.

       Both firms received base data, in AutoCAD format, from Facilities Management, consisting of the Simon Fraser University site plan and building infrastructure. From this information, both firms created base maps for the development of their concept plans. This information was the same as that received by our working group earlier, and so difficulties projecting the data were minimized. See Appendix 1 for further information.
